What we do
Ordering landscape materials is easy to get wrong. Gravel is sold by the ton, mulch by the yard or the bag, pavers by the pallet and siding by the square – and a few inches of depth can change an order by several truckloads. YardCalcHub has a calculator for each common job:
- Gravel, topsoil, fill dirt and mulch in cubic yards, tons, bags and truckloads
- Pavers with base gravel, bedding sand and joint sand
- Asphalt tons, truckloads and cold-patch bags
- Siding squares, boxes, planks and trim
- A general cubic yard calculator for anything else
Every calculator works in US and metric units, needs no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser. Our project guides explain how to build and order for common jobs, step by step.
How we build and check our calculators
Each calculator uses standard volume and area formulas. Where a result depends on an assumption – such as how much a cubic yard of gravel weighs – we show the default next to the input so you can change it to your supplier's figure. Every calculator page explains its formula and includes a worked example.
The defaults, waste allowances and the references we check them against are listed on our methodology and data sources page. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
Editorial standards
- Accuracy first. Numbers are checked against published product data and industry guidance before a page goes live.
- Corrections. If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We check every report and update the page and its review date.
- Independence. We do not sell materials or contracting services, and no supplier or manufacturer pays us to change a result or recommendation.
- Clear limits. Our results are planning estimates, not engineering advice. For structural, drainage or load-bearing work, consult a qualified local professional.
